Staff Sacramento Business Journal Apple plans a solar farm for a new data center in Nevada, according to the Wall Street Journal’s Digits blog. The 20 megawatt solar array in Washoe County will power the data center. The solar array will be built in partnership with utility NV Energy. SunPower will build the project. According to the Wall Street Journal, the move is part of its commitment to power its operations with renewable energy. The 137-acre solar installation is expected to take eight months to build, according to Apple. The data center will create 35 jobs.
